World Premiere – November 2019
The Winnipeg Jewish Theatre
A puppet adaptation of a graphic novel, The Golem’s Mighty Swing follows the story of the Stars of David – a 1920’s barnstorming, Jewish baseball team that travels small town America playing exhibition games. The team faces financial hardship, and is forced to make a difficult decision in order to keep their dreams alive. James Sturm’s graphic novel explores themes of prejudice, plagiarism, cultural appropriation and the cost of compromising ones ideals.
