Outside the March is proud to announce this year’s
Artistic Accomplice Technicians:
Zoe Daca and River Oliveira.
In addition to receiving training and mentorship, Zoe and River have joined the Outside the March team to support our production of DANCE NATION, and upcoming productions of Erin Shields’ MEDUSA with Soulpepper Theatre Company and the recently announced BLOOD BROTHERS at SummerWorks Performance Festival created by Sheep’s Clothing Theatre.

River Oliveira (he/they)
River is a multidisciplinary sound artist, musician, performer, poet and technician interested in creating sonic landscapes that explore altered states of perception, queer experiences of grief and survival, and the marriage of nature and noise. Melding his work as a technician and a designer, River creates work that functions as a dialogue between physical performance, and abstract design. He has a specific interest in poetic, experimental, and non-linear storytelling.
River has worked as a creator and technical leader across the city, with design credits at Theatre Passe Muraille, Young People’s Theatre, Crow’s, and more. Most recently, River was Head of Audio at TMU Chrysalis, the Composer/Sound designer for the Weston Mural/Sound Installation, “Chasing Wind” with Crossroads Theatre, and the performer/co-creator for how the wolf says goodnight in the 47th Rhubarb Festival. He’s excited to be working and learning with Outside the March, expanding his perspective on immersive performance and design!

Zoe Daca (she/her)
Zoe is a Stage Manager, Sound Designer, and Composer based in Toronto and Montréal. Driven by her dedication to theatrical excellence and exploration, she strives to create an environment that fosters creativity and supports individual artistry within the collaborative process. Zoe studied classical music at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, and is a graduate of the Production Design and Technical Arts program at the National Theatre School of Canada. Some favourite credits include Les Zinspiré·es 13 (Théâtre Français de Toronto); Why Don’t We Together (Dear Bear Multi-Arts); Jane Eyre (The National Theatre School); and Chez Nous: Consolation of Philosophy, The Baroness and the Pig, Je Me Souviens (Playwrights’ Workshop Montréal). Zoe is thrilled to be joining the Outside the March team, to explore the creative values and technical processes that define OtM’s unique productions, and to learn from the amazing theatre makers of the OtM 2026 season!
The Artistic Accomplice program is a paid opportunity for early career professionals who want to expand what’s possible for immersive, site-specific performance and audience experience. This apprenticeship will have a technical focus, aimed at those working/training as technicians, technical directors, production managers, designers and creators.
